1. Coit Observatory
Go here to stargaze for free on Wednesdays after 8:30pm if their are clear skies.

2. Bunker Hill Monument
If you climb 294 steps to the top of this monument you can see the entire Boston Skyline, it is open from 9 am to 4:30 pm everyday.

3. SoWa Open Market
This market has a wide variety of different little shops and is open Sundays May through October from 10 am – 4 pm.

4. Harvard Book Store
Come to explore the historic book store. If you time your visit right you maybe able to attend a book signing or reading as well.

5. Best cellars
Best Cellars has free wine tastings from 5 – 8 pm on weeknights and from 2 – 5 pm on weekends.

6. USS Constitution
Tours of “Old Ironsides” are always free and offer insight into the unique history surrounding this boat. The museum is open April 1 – October 31 on Tuesday – Sunday from 10 – 5:50 pm. The boat is open November 1 – March 31 Thursday – Sunday from 10 am – 3:50pm.

7. The Arnold Arboretum
This park is 365 acres and is open during daylight hours year round.

8. Institute for Contemporary Art
The institute has many unusual exhibits that are free to view from 5 – 9 pm every Thursday.

9. Massachusetts State House
Visit the State house and go on a free 45 minute tour of the oldest building on Beacon Hill. Call before arriving to ensure that their is a tour offered at a time that works for your visit.

10. Harvard Square
Visit over 300 registered street performers in this area. Its a great way to enjoy free entertainment.

11. Custom House
Visit the first skyscraper in Boston and enjoy free tours from 10 am to 4 pm Sunday through Friday.

12. The Freedom Trail
This is a 2.5 mile long walk that covers the history of Boston and takes you to 16 historical locations.

13. Samuel Adams Brewery
Come visit this famous brewery which offers both free tours and samples throughout the day. It is recommended to sign up for a tour before showing up.

14. Swan Boats
Riding the boats does cost money, however you can get up close to them and watch as they go through the lagoon a the public gardens for free.

15. Galleries on Newbury Street
There are 15 galleries you can stroll through while walking on this street.

16. Museum of African American History
This museum contains displays on different parts of African American History.

17.Fort Independence
If you are visiting castle island this is a great stop to enjoy the oldest fortified site in North America.

18. Mount Auburn Cemetery
Come here to view the historical monuments and enjoy the beautiful floral displays.

19. Old North Church
This is a location where Paul Revere made his ride and signaled that the British were coming.
