The colorful, diverse city that is Maryland’s largest city and economic hub is known for its beautiful Inner Harbor, quirky neighborhoods, unique museums and rich history. Founded in 1729, Baltimore originally was a major seafaring and trading community. Today the waterfront surrounded by shops, restaurants and attractions. The skyline is peppered with churches and monuments that earned it the nickname of “Monument City.” The city’s down-to-earth, small-town spirit and hospitality make visitors feel right at home.
1. Baltimore Museum of Art
This museum is free to everyone making it a great destination. Their is a wide array of different exhibits through the year, including special exhibits from partners.
2. Baltimore’s Sports Hero’s
Visit Johnny Unitas at M&T Bank Stadium or Babe Ruth at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
3. Basilica
Visit the National Shrine of the Assumption of Virgin Mary. This cathedral was the first metropolitan one in the United States.
4. Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary
This is a 100 acre nature sanctuary that dates back to over 100,000 years ago. This area used to be a home to many pre-historic creatures like mammoths.
5. Washington Monument
Climb the 228 steps up to the top of the monument that pays tribute to George Washington. From here you will have a great view of the city, since you are up on Mount Vernon.

Portland is one of those cities that need to be viewed from inside and outside. Known as The City of Roses, Oregon’s green gem is just 70 miles from the Pacific Ocean and is surrounded by stunning mountains, rivers and vineyards. Visits to Portland’s galleries, museums, lush parks and historical old town can fill a week or weekend. The city’s easy-to-use transit system is one of the most extensive and advanced in the country, including the MAX train that allows you to sick back and view Portland’s spectacular surroundings.
1. Forest Park
Visit the largest city park in the united states. It is comprised of over 5,000 acres, inluding 50 miles of trails and 30 miles of gated roads.
2. Saturday Market
Visit between march and December on Saturday and Sunday to experience a wide variety of crafts and different foods.
3. Widmer Portland Brewing
While in Portland schedule a tour on a Friday or Saturday of this famous brewery.
4. Portland Farmer’s Market
Visit this local farmers market to enjoy different foods that have been created locally. The market is open Saturdays and Wednesdays between April and October.
5. International Rose Test Garden
Visit this garden where you can see over8,000 rose bushes from across the world on display. This is a great place to bring a picnic lunch and sit and enjoy the scenery.

2. National Hispanic Cultural Center
Depending on when you are visiting this center may have a free event. Most of the events are celebrating Hispanic Culture, so check before your visit to see what event you can catch.
3. Old Town New Fun
This even happens weekly from Wednesday to Sunday. Different events take place each week including live music, cultural history, and cocktail parties.
4. Summerfest
This is during the summer on Saturday evenings.
5. Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum
This museum celebrates Hot Air Balloons and their history. Admission is free on Sundays from 9 in the morning until 1 pm, and on the first Friday of each month.

3. Rodeo Drive
Go on a window shopping adventure in the super elite shopping district of Rodeo Drive. Enjoy seeing all the famous and infamous designer clothing without having to go in and deal with the hassle.
4. TV Audience
Many of the famous shows filmed in LA allow for you to be in the audience for free. These shows include Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and The Price is Right. If your interested in doing this make sure you order the tickets in advance since they do sell out, even though they are free.

Visit the observatory and enjoy the different exhibits while touring the building.
